OUR FARMERS MARKET BOARD

      Travis De Nevers, President
Travis
Travis has been involved with the farmers market since 2018, when he joined as a vendor selling soap and beauty products. He became a board member in 2019 and was elected president in 2024. His background is in business development and organizational growth.
Travis is passionate about promoting access to healthy, fresh, and sustainable food for the community. He sees the farmers market as a social space where people can come together, share experiences, and connect.
Travis is a longtime PNW native, living in Des Moines with his partner for the last 2 years. When he’s not at the market, you will find him crafting away in his craft room.

Jen Reck-Allen, Treasurer
Jen RA
As a transplant from Minnesota, Jen spent her formative years on her grandmother’s farm growing strawberries, corn, and endless amounts of zucchini plus some ornery chickens.
Moving to the PNW in 2000, Jen quickly became involved in the community through Girl Scouts as a volunteer. With a professional background in hospitality and program management, Jen brings to the board a true heart for community enrichment and engagement on the local level.
Jen, along with her spouse Duff, ran a wholesale food business in South Park for over 7 years.  They are long-time tenants of the Des Moines Marina where they enjoy boating out in the waters of Puget Sound.

Criselda Casault, Secretary
Criselda
Criselda is starting her second year on the board and is the newly elected secretary. Criselda is a busy mother of 2 boys and has been married to her husband for 20 years. She was born in the Philippines and moved to Washington in 1986. She resides in SeaTac but frequents the Des Moines marina at least 4 days a week to walk her dog, Buddy. When she’s not walking Buddy, she’s crafting making doggie bandanas and other cool swag items.
Criselda has fond memories of this market dating back to when her children were in preschool.  So, when the opportunity to get involved arose, she was enthusiastically up for the challenge. She’s ready to dive in and use her extensive experience in marketing and events planning to help elevate the amazing events that take place at the market.

Jeff Shamblin-Mullinix
Jeff SM
I am native of Ohio. My husband, Steve Shamblin-Mullinix, and I moved to Washington 4 ½ years ago when I was appointed as pastor of a church in Bonney Lake. We served there for 3 years. We moved to Des Moines in July 2022 when I became pastor at the Des Moines United Methodist Church. My husband teaches middle school art in the Tacoma School District. We live in Des Moines with our 6 year old Black Lab mix, Wesley. Between us, we have 6 adult children, 6 grandchildren, with a seventh due in May. We enjoy working in the yard during the warmer weather and working on landscaping projects. I enjoy playing piano and I also have to admit that I am a karaoke junky.
We love living in the Des Moines community. We visited the Farmer’s Market shortly after we moved here. I knew it was something special. It brings with it a sense of community. I love that part of the mission of the market is to increase access to local and sustainable goods to everyone in the community, especially our vulnerable populations. So, when I was invited to join the board, I did so with little hesitation. I enjoy giving back to the community in such a meaningful way.

Zori Pruneda
Zori P.
Zori started out as a vendor at the Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market about 13 years ago selling hand made soap and body products, often with her two young children in tow. Zori has been a Des Moines resident now for about 9 years and truly loves every moment that she gets to spend in this great community.
Now with children grown Zori has more time to give back to the community.  Zori has been on the board since the end of summer 2021 and is excided to support the markets success.
In Zori's 24+ years working for the County, she has mastered a number of safety protocols and initiatives that she plans on implementing to ensure the market stays a safe, and great, space for all to enjoy.
